Loved the central location of this hotel, just a short walk to all the shops, restaurants, and attractions. The view from the balcony was breathtaking, overlooking the mountains and castle. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always making sure we had everything we needed. Plus, the free WiFi was a great bonus for staying connected during our trip.
Although the room was nice, the bathroom could have been cleaner, with some moldy grout and a ceiling that needed attention. The breakfast offered was average and a bit overpriced compared to other hotels we've stayed in.

Hotel nicely decorated in local alpine style. Nice rooms with good view at the mountains around. Location very close to the old fortified town of Briancon.
Some of the hotel personnel were not friendly and in a case they were very rude ! They denied to give us a bottle of water saying that kitchen was closed. The previous night, a different person did serve us on the same request ... Very poor English making it difficult to get information. At dinner we ordered from a picture of the menu and we got a bit different plate. Parking at the back yard not that safe. At checkout, they had charged us more of those really consumed (number of breakfasts, bottle of waters) ... But after we noticed that at least they didn't argue.

the hotel was in a nice location near the old city
As I have said previously the value for money of hotels in france just does not compare to those in Italy and Germany for the same money. This hotel could have done with a lick of paint and an updated appearance

I had a fantastic stay in the French Alps at this hotel. The location was absolutely picturesque, with snow-capped peaks and a charming old town nearby. Being situated on a slope added to the character of the place. The hotel itself had everything I needed - clean and spacious rooms with comfortable beds. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and they even spoke English. The breakfast they served was delicious, and there were plenty of options to choose from. Additionally, the hotel was conveniently located close to many restaurants in the old part of the city, making it easy to find a nice meal.
Nothing bad to say.

The food in the restaurant was above average & value for money. Free wifi worked well.
Our first impressions on arrival were very poor. The receptionist was aggressive & rude, not allowing us to talk at all, & making no concessions to our poor French. Other hotel staff that we spoke to later were much more agreeable.

It was quiet area and staff was nice.
Breakfast for 8.5 euro's was not worth that value.

The guest rooms at Hotel Cristol in Briancon are absolute bliss! The cozy rooms come with free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom with a refreshing bath. As a business traveler, these amenities made my stay incredibly comfortable and enjoyable.
Personally, I didn't fancy the fact that some of the bathrooms at Hotel Cristol only had showers instead of bathtubs. But hey, that's just my preference and others might still find it perfectly fine.

Convenient location near old town, restaurants, bars, and ski bus. Excellent breakfast provided. Quiet atmosphere in the evenings. Great view from backside of the establishment. Motorcycle parking available.

During the romantic escape, we loved the beautiful mountain view from our balcony. The room was clean and had all the necessary amenities. The hotel's location was perfect, just a short walk away from the historic center and close to restaurants and shops. This made it easy for us to explore the area and enjoy the local cuisine.
The quality of the food was average and the price seemed high for what was being offered. the bathroom in our room had moldy grout and could have been cleaner.

I recently stayed at Hotel Cristol for a week-long ski break. The location was perfect, near the top of the old town with easy access to restaurants, bars, and the ski bus. The breakfast provided was delicious, and the hotel was nice and quiet in the evenings. The drive to the hotel was absolutely stunning, with majestic snow-capped peaks even in the summer. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were helpful and family-friendly. it was a great experience.
I would be happy to recommend this hotel.

Our stay at Hotel Cristol was exceptional value for money. The room was comfortable and cozy, providing just what we needed for a good night's sleep. Situated near the old town in the breathtaking French Alps, the location was picture-perfect. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel welcome and well taken care of.
The breakfast menu could use a little improvement, perhaps by offering a wider variety of options.

Excellent location and helpful staff
We recently stayed at a budget hotel in a superb location. Within a 5-minute walk to the gates of the historic center, we were surrounded by lots of restaurants, a bakery, and a wine shop. The best part was the easy access to nearby locations and the convenient free parking. Our room pleasantly surprised us with a balcony offering a beautiful view of the mountains and castle. Although simple, the room was adequate and seemingly clean. Unfortunately, the bathroom had some moldy grout and an unclean ceiling, which dampened our enthusiasm. Despite this, we were content with the lovely mountain-facing room. The breakfast was average but not up to the same quality as other hotels we've experienced. Additionally, there was a slight sewer smell in the bedroom. However, the man at reception went out of his way to help us, securing our bikes and ensuring our wet belongings were properly dried. The hotel offered very good value and the staff were friendly and cheerful. we had a satisfactory experience and would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is an absolute gem! The location is absolutely breathtaking, nestled high in the French Alps with jaw-dropping views of snow-capped peaks. The drive to the hotel alone was worth the trip, with picturesque landscapes even after a hot summer. The hotel itself is clean and cozy, with comfortable beds and spacious rooms perfect for families. The staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating, making us feel right at home. The nearby local restaurant served a delicious meal with excellent service. The old town shops, perched on a slope, oozed charm and character. I would definitely stay here again!

Great location, just a short drive to the ski resort. Despite being on the main road, it's surprisingly quiet. The hotel is basic but clean, with comfortable rooms and a new flat-screen TV. The restaurant served excellent food at very reasonable prices. The staff were friendly and helpful, although limited English was spoken.
The "bar" was more of a counter and had limited drink options. It closed early in the evening, leaving little opportunity to socialize.
